Objective
The project demonstrates how a recurring order-review process can be moved from manual spreadsheet edits into a controlled Google Workspace workflow without hiding exceptions or sending messages automatically.
Automation flow
- Adds a custom Operations Automation menu to Google Sheets.
- Standardizes customer names, email addresses, regions and transaction statuses.
- Flags duplicate IDs, invalid fields, pending orders and excluded transactions as Review items.
- Refreshes validated KPIs and a regional revenue chart from Ready rows only.
- Creates a Gmail draft for human review and records each action in an audit log.
Controls and handover
The original source remains separate from the clean output. Rows are never silently deleted, and each record receives a Ready or Review result with a reason. The downloadable package includes commented source code, a restricted permission manifest and installation notes.
Outcome
The workflow reduces repetitive formatting and reporting steps while keeping a person in control of exceptions and external communication. It can be adapted to order trackers, client intake sheets, operational registers and recurring management reports.
